 The Wee Cottage is a traditional Highland stone cottage perfect for two, built in the classic “two up, two down” style (two rooms upstairs and two downstairs)        It is a real Highland cottage, full of history, character and cosy charm, right in the heart of Drumnadrochit.           Somewhere you can end the day beside the wood-burning stove with a generous dram, or enjoy a tasty evening meal and a cold drink just a short stroll away – or both!                      Downstairs, the surprisingly spacious kitchen/diner features an authentic stone feature wall, slate hearth and cosy wood-burning stove, with a couple of colourful, comfortable armchairs. The simple dining table also works well as a desk or card table.  The modern kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, fridge (with small freezer compartment), induction hob and oven.                             A separate sitting room has a squashy sofa and comfortable leather armchair, perfect for reading, watching television or simply relaxing.            Upstairs, the snug bedroom and bathroom nestle beneath sloping wooden ceilings. As with many cottages of its age, the doorways are lower than modern homes, adding to its authentic character (taller guests may need to duck occasionally, but you’ll soon get used to it!).                 The bathroom has a shower over the bath, a large basin and of course a loo and all decorated with the same colourful design touches and art you’ll find throughout the cottage.                                Leave the car in the free private parking space right outside the front door and stroll to cafés, pubs, restaurants and local attractions. Fiddlers Restaurant & Whisky Bar is next door (March to October), while The Loch Ness Inn is just along the road and open all year, making an evening meal or a dram an easy walk.                                  Although the cottage sits on the village’s main street, it is positioned at right angles to the road, so none of the windows overlook the thoroughfare.                         Dogs are always warmly welcomed (with a biscuit!), and there’s a separate enclosed grassy area for them to enjoy. It’s a lovely little sun trap, so we’ve added a couple of comfortable garden chairs for the humans too. A wee lockable shed is available for bike storage.                                                                                                                                                          There you go The Wee Cottage as it is. This is a real Highland Cottage. It has quirks. It has history. It is cosy and it is in the heart of our Loch Ness Village.
